A collection of photographs, double exposed onto 35mm film. Highlighting the rapid expanse of cities and degradation of natural areas, but also exhibiting how natural and man made habitats can complement each other to create striking displays.
The first set of pictures were taken while wandering the streets of New York City. I thought it would be interesting to contradict the busy, brutal and concrete filled streets with the completely natural scenes and plants of my home town, Durban South Africa. This was my very first experience with double exposing film and I’m still very happily surprised with the outcome.
